What does Gauge mean?
According to Title 15 of the US Commerce and Trade Code (Chapter
6, Subchapter III, Sec. 206), a standard measure has been established
for the manufactured thickness of processed sheet metal in the
United States:
- 6 Gauge is .006" thickness
- 8 Gauge is .008" thickness
- 9 Gauge is .009" thickness
What this means for you: When hit, the 9 gauge slat has a much higher
probability of resisting denting than a 6 gauge slat. When purchasing a aluminum mini blinds, purchase the highest gauge
to keep your mini blinds looking their best, longest.
